MILITARY INTELLIGENCE
Military intelligence is a military discipline that uses information collection and analysis approaches to provide guidance and direction to assist commanders in their decisions.
IMAGE INTELLIGENCE (IMINT)
Imagery Intelligence is derived from the exploitation of collection by visual photography, infrared sensors, lasers, electro-optics, and radar sensors wherein images of objects are reproduced optically or electronically on film, electronic display devices or other media.
TARGETING
Targeting is the process of selecting targets and matching the appropriate response to them on the basis of operational requirements, capabilities & limitations.
BATTLE DAMAGE ASSESSMENT (BDA)
BDA is the timely & accurate estimate of damage resulting from the application of military force against a predetermined objective. This is estimate is the result an analysis done by experts and relying for a large part on imagery.
RECOGNITION
Recognition techniques enable intelligence staff, image analysts and more largely soldiers in the study and recognition of enemy vehicles, equipment, weapons, aircraft, warships and vessels. Learning of the basic details to identify equipment and ensure accuracy in reporting, or conduct basic threat analysis.
